Tyler Fiore - A Pop Aritst with a great future ahead of him, drops into our Spotlight seat this week to talk about his music mix and aspirations.

Tylerfiore is that your real name?

Technically yes. It's actaully Tyler Fiore, when I set up my account on muzicheadz the spacebar on my computer was stuck, so Tylerfiore is what it shows on the website. I have since upgraded keyboards incase you wondering haha.

How would you describe your material?

I'd like to consider my material unique. It is defiantely Pop music but I like to mix in some R&B and club elements. I like music that makes people want to dance but I also like music where you can stop and just take in what the lyrics are saying. I try to make both when I consider songs to write to and record and I try to make music that will make people feel good when they hear it.

How did you get into the music industry?

I started writing lyrics and poems when my parents were going through a divorce when I was about 14. A couple years later I decided to start recording my own material and evertually created my artist page on myspace.com. Just kept writing/recording and slowly collected a fanbase online and eventually got some of my songs sold on iTunes. Slowly but surely making my way in.

Do you create all the music for your material?

I write the lyrics for all my songs but the music part of it is all done by various producers that I've met online. I've composed a song or two on the piano but that's about as far as I've gone with creating music. I've tried to take the time to produce my own material but I get an idea in my head of what I want a song to sound like and when I try to create it sounds nothing like what I imagined. So I've decided to keep the producing to the producers.

Have you set up a recording studio for yourself at home?

Yeah, it's not very state of the art or anything but it works for now. I use garageband on my Mac to record. My computer is set up in my living room so I pull out my studio mic, pop filter, and mic stand and record straight from my living room. I try to get the best sound quality out of what I have to work with but it's difficult at times. It's convient though when I have down time but since I still live at home it's hard to find "alone" time to record.

What are some of the challenges in this industry?

I think the industry itself is nothing but a challenge. But I think that's why I find it so intriguing. Everyone always says it's all about who you know and who you network with and that determines if you make it or not. It's hard to network with anyone higher up in the industry if you are unsigned and they haven't heard of you. So that's one problem is finding people in the industry to network with to get my name out there. Another main problem that I've encountered is being that I don't produce my own music, is finding the right song for me to write and record. Ecpescially now, I go online and look through producer's beats that they offer and they are all "Lady Gaga style beats". If I wanted a song that sounded like Lady Gaga, I'd cover "Just Dance". Being unsigned I don't have pick of high quality beats that are "original" and professional sounding. So it's hard finding the right song at times.

A current goal you are hoping to achieve in the near future?

I've been presented with a couple opportunities that I really hope fall through. I got a call the other day from an agent that told me I was being considered to do a photo shoot for an ad campaign for Ed Hardy and True Religion Jeans. So I find out next week if I get the job or not, but just knowing I'm considered for it is an awesome feeling. Apart from that I hope to eventually get signed to a label in the near future as well as start doing more performances. I got my first performance out of the way in August of this year at a showcase in California and after I got off the stage I've had an itch to get back up on stage again and show people what I'm capable of.

Have you met anyone famous?

I haven't met anyone extremely famous but in August I performed in a showcase for Jive Records where I met Jeff Blue, an A&R for Jive. He's worked with some of the most famous people in the industry which makes him pretty famous too I guess.

Take-away or home cooked meal?

Definitely home cooked. I'm lucky enough to have grandmothers that are amazing cooks. One can make the best Italian food you will ever taste in your entire life and the other can make great food too. So I rather eat their food then take-out.

What is one of your favorite songs and why?

One of my favorite songs of mine is a song I've been working on called "Typical Love Song". It has an awesome beat and the song is kind of an anti-love song. And as far as my favorite songs from other artists, I am constantly listening to many different songs and can never just pick one song as my favorite. Right now the songs I have on repeat are "Soundtrack 2 My Life" by Kid Cudi, "All the Right Moves" by OneRepublic, "Playing God" by Paramore, "3" by Briney Spears, "Heartbreak Warfare" by John Mayer and "Starstruck" by 3OH!3 featuring Katy Perry.

If you could work with anyone in the world who would that be?

There are so many! Producer's I would love to work with would be Danja or Bloodyshy and Advant. I would love to work with Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic, he's written some of the best songs out today. And If I ever got the chance I would be die if I did a song with a female artist like Rihanna, Katy Perry, or Britney Spears. My life would be complete if I ever collaborated with any of those people.
