INTERVIEW - PRODUCER PEDEWEEDY
by Freshsounz, 01/30/10 00:03:14 |
Hailing from Florida, USA, Pedeweedy is a rising Music Producer who is definitely not afraid to step out of his music comfort zone. One of his favourite genres would have to be RnB but he does not limit himself to this and experiments over a variety of genres to show his musical versatility.
Pedeweedy has been producing music now for the last 12 years, fine tuning his music Productions but his interest for beats came from listening to his mother play music as he was growing up "my mom use to play music a lot and I use to love the beats so I would beat box in my head to the beat, but this got me curious as to the mechanics of music and how they made beats so I would try to make my own music in my head" say Pedeweedy.
Coming from a musical family Pedeweedy has always had family supporting his musical aspirations "I remember my mom bought me a play station game back then, those ones where you can create beatz, I picked it up fast and from there i just read and learnt as much as I could about how to be a music producer". I asked Pedeweedy what influenced his music. "My gift is from God, it's like I get a gut feeling on something when I am creating so I believe he has influenced me in producing music".
Curiosity always gets the better of me Pedeweedy so where did you get your nickname from? "The nickname was giving to me by my grandmother, and it has just stayed with me, but my friends call me Pede and I don't mind that" says Pedeweedy.
So what lessons have you learnt over the last 12 years producing? "I know you have to be determine to make it, I use to be lazy and didn't push my music out there or hook into networks, so if you want to make it you need do some hard work".
Pedeweedys determination to network and promote his music has seen him able to support his living from creating beats, when I asked him about one track of his that stand out the most to him and why he replied "the track i like the most is the song I did with an artist Ethyo from Guadalupe, that was my first time doing reggae and working with someone from another country, the song is called Caribbean sound" You seem to be big on collaborating why is this important? "I love to collaborate because two brains are better then one and plus we can share both ideas and come up with a hit and provide each other with good feedback". This self taught producer has learnt everything he knows on his own "my sound is natural i like to create my own style and stay fresh, I also like to come up with melodies, although I cant sing but it gives artists I work with an idea of what I hear from the music, and sometimes helps in the collaborating process too".
He has done just that collaborating with many of the artists on Muzicheadz, so what do you think stands out to you about Muzicheadz from all the other music networking sites? "I love the way Muzicheadz made me feel when i came to site, you guys treated me like I am famous and I was somebody and it's a good site to collaborate on and help artist to grow and sell their music and get known, also Muzicheadz has way more features then these other sites and the team here will actually talk to you and not be stuck up like most owners of sites where you have to go through customer service to get to them".
Like you many music producers have opted to go independent in this industry, this a sign of the times? "It's about the right to choose for me, people like myself want to be able to work with who ever they want and not be limited to who they can work with". And if anyone can work hard Pedeweedy can as this producer does not sleep! "All I need is ONE hour sleep, I am too dedicated to my music - lol" says Pedeweedy.
Music production has changed over the years from the band recording in the studio to the digital arena, so which does Pedeweedy prefer? "I think that both ways sounds great to me, so Old School or Digital, I suppose the costs for producing music bands has grown so many people see the benefits in the digital realm". Ok, so I'm like new to the digital realm of music production what programmes do you use? Or is that a producer's best kept secret? "No I don't mind saying, to name a few I use reason 4 cubase 5 belringer mic, back in the days you needed a lot more programmes to make music but now days they make programs to give you same sound, so that's just some of the programmes I use".
So what advice do you have for our Muzicheadz? "To never give up keep going and don't worry what people think and that you are never to young or old to create music, so stay focussed".
Pedeweedy is sure heating up the industry as well as attracting some International attention for his beats, so watch this space! Or as Pedeweedy would say "That's Fire"
